The AMA continues to support the enactment of comprehensive legislation that addresses the wide range of patient protection and physician fairness issues, such as disclosure of health plan information to enrollees and prospective enrollees, utilization review and grievance procedures, due process in physician selective contracting decisions, and physician involvement in health plan medical policies.
